The challenge

The client had a technically strong cybersecurity product but was not receiving enough qualified traffic from organic search.

Its website ranked primarily for branded searches and a limited number of informational queries. Important commercial searches around cybersecurity software, threat detection, compliance and security solutions were either poorly covered or competing across several pages.

The business was also relying heavily on referrals and paid acquisition to generate new opportunities.

The objective

Increase qualified organic enquiries by improving rankings for commercial cybersecurity searches, expanding topical authority and creating a clearer journey from informational content to product/demo pages.

Our strategy

We began with technical SEO and search-intent research to understand where the biggest organic opportunities existed.

Instead of producing large quantities of generic cybersecurity content, we built a topic cluster around:

  • Cybersecurity software
  • Threat detection
  • Security compliance
  • Business security risks
  • Cybersecurity comparisons
  • Industry-specific security requirements

Commercial pages were prioritised first, with supporting educational content designed to strengthen topical relevance and internal linking.

Pages receiving significant impressions but low click-through rates were prioritised for metadata testing. High-traffic articles with weak lead generation were updated with stronger internal links, commercial CTAs and relevant product references.

Results

After nine months:

68% increase in organic conversion rate.

54% increase in qualified organic enquiries.

81% increase in non-branded organic clicks.

Key learnings
